Hey. I'm Larry.
I'm just some terminally stupid unfunny gay furry gamer on the internet, hailing from the land of guns, burgers and eagles. I like memes and I occasionally draw and do music. I also hate people. :)

You know they're not even looking at (your) art? It's like they just let a dog chase for preys in a forest. This is what genAI does : it scraps the internet for its content.

Don't overthink it. Do your thing, and stop thinking about AI, NFT's and all these shitass programs developped by big corpos to fatten their wallets.

They will always find a way to profit for something. So just do your thing. This is the worst thing that could happen to them : not having enough attention. Because no attention=no sales.

They don't deserve your energy. Live as they don't exist.

Dogs can't hunt birds.

I Hate both Ai Art and Ntfs altogether. I tried ai-art. never touching nfts its a promise

I'm sure your heart is in the right spot, but you are effectively preaching to the choir here.

In most cases an "AI"-database is filled by a program crawling the net. Said program is guaranteed to have _NO_ settings that would make it skip content that's somehow marked as "do not use this".
Because what they are doing is already in breach of _international_copyright_treaties_*. It's like expecting a mass murderer to leave you alone if you wear a "Do not kill me!"-shirt. ;)

As soon as you create something, you have the copyright. There are ways to formalize this, but nobody else can (legally) use your art without your permission. And by setting your 'Licensing Terms'-box here on NG to "You may not use this work for any purposes." you made the legal situation clear.

Plus: I would claim NFTs were a stillbirth. The only people still peddling that scam are those who could not sell all their [Digital nothing, actually].

Now that you've already written it, you can leave your post up in case somebody is collecting voices for an upcoming class action lawsuit by using a 'different kind of crawler', but legally speaking you were already covered.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

@TigerPlushiefire

It's exactly their goal. To make people use their product.

"It's a way to create!"
"It's easier!"
"It's the same as drawing, trust me bro!"

Those are all lies to make people use genAI. They play on our fear and insecurities. They play on how complex art is, and try to make it something bad.

But in reality, if art is complex, it is because we ARE complex beings. We are humans, with our hope, fears, and experiences, all emotions that plays into your art. And corpos want to get rid of it because "it's too complex, and people don't like complexity."

I tried AI in my hobby writing one day too. Really, it was the worst week of my life. I tried it because I feared that I'll never be good at writing. And I got into their trap.

You're good. Don't ever give up, they can't win :)

@SouSTAR Speaking of letting AI handle complex tasks: I would _love_ to see the face of a CEO if somebody were to, on camera, suggest that they should retire in favor of leaving their job to the AI.

Somewhat related: 'Colossus - The Forbin Project'* is a movie from way before AI could ever pose a problem. All things considered, I think it's pretty good.

@SouSTAR My reason to not use Grammarly for writing to enhance it with ai, and im getting tired of every commerical with ties with AI or That Stupid Bar code withe interactivity on Hulu
